Owner
Chris Bergman, owner of Homestead Builders, brings nearly 20 years of experience in the construction industry. He began his career in excavation, giving him a strong foundation in site development and land preparation. Over time, Chris expanded his expertise by constructing his own commercial buildings, which led to the launch of his general contracting company.
In addition to Homestead Builders, Chris continues to operate his excavation business, Bergman Construction, offering clients a comprehensive approach from groundwork to finished home. He also holds a real estate license, providing added value by helping clients seamlessly navigate the process of purchasing land for their new home.
Chris is married to his wife, Tylea, and together they have four children: Bailey, Harlie, Chet, and Kip. Outside of work, the Bergman family enjoys traveling, camping, and spending time driving his side-by-side in the hills.
Jared Williams
Estimator & Project Manager
With 25 years of construction experience and a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Jared Williams brings a strong background in project management, estimating, and on‑site leadership to Homestead Builders. His career includes many successful years with Iverson Construction in Sturgis, South Dakota, where he managed residential and commercial projects from early planning through final completion.
Jared is known for clear communication, accurate cost planning, steady hands‑on leadership, and strong problem‑solving skills that make him a trusted presence on every build. As Estimator and Project Manager for Homestead Builders, he supports a growing team focused on quality craftsmanship and client satisfaction throughout the Black Hills. His ability to balance big‑picture planning with day‑to‑day details keeps projects moving smoothly and with intention.
Outside of work, Jared and his wife Andria stay busy raising their three children—Ava and twins Ben and Jasper. Whether managing a job site or spending time with his family, Jared brings integrity, focus, and a strong work ethic to everything he does.
